American Lutheran Church has been serving the people of the Newport and Priest River area since 1926. The church was started by a group of Norwegians, but they wanted to make sure people knew that it wasn't only for Norwegians, and so they called it "American" Lutheran Church. We continue to be a church for people of diverse backgrounds who are bound together by our faith in Jesus.
American Lutheran Church is a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA) in the Eastern Washington - Idaho Synod.
